DSW

Last nights Scented Vinyl with Deep Sleep Waltzing was great, probably my favorite
night music wise since I started doing this almost 2 months ago. The guys from
DSW brought in a wide variety of LP's, some of which would be hard to find anywhere
else. We played everything from Coco Rosie, The Beatles, cLOUDDEAD, Fog a some
others that I hadn't heard until last night. The music they brought in had me home on
my computer after the show looking up a lot of bands.

The show was just as much fun as I hoped it would be, Brandon Paul Moses started
off the evening well with his choice of the new Coco Rosie album, which I'm pretty
sure everybody there was impressed with. I also recently bought Neon Bible by the
Arcade Fire on vinyl, so we got to hear a couple of tracks off of that. The show wrapped
up with them playing 5 songs, all of which were amazing, and hopefully they'll get
them recorded soon, preferably on vinyl.

The interview portion of the show was definitely my strongest to date, the more I talk to
different artists the more similarities pop up when discussing the Iowa Music Scene.
All the guys in Deep Sleep Waltzing are heavily involved in our music scene, and not
just with their band. Adam helps organized the Under The Microscope album
compilations and show, he also plays in Oh Possum. Both Brandon Paul Moses and
Jayvee have been doing solo stuff since before the formation of DSW. And Brandon
on drums just plain rules.
