Mindrite
Last night Mindrite didn’t perform at the end of the show, because we were afraid it would be a bit too loud.  As it turned
out, the rest of the show was a bit loud anyways with the surprises that Mindrite had in store.

The show started off like any other, enjoying some of Mars Café’s nice beer/wine menu and playing some records.
With every band that comes on the show I try and guess what records to bring up from my collection that they might be
into; last night I was dead on with the AC/DC albums and some Ozzy.  Blake had a number of AC/DC albums and a
book of lyrics to accompany them.

The first surprise of the night came with the playing of Joanie Greggains “Aerobic Shape Up II”.  Spencer wanted to take
the opportunity to show the crowd how he has achieved the perfect six-pack; so he did a bit of the Shape Up routine and
took some time for the all important cool-down at the end of the workout. (See pictures below)

We played a few more albums and out came the AC/DC lyric book and the second surprise of the night…a poetry
reading!  They read a couple of songs and Spencer put the A Cappella twist on Back in Black, then we played some
more AC/DC.

Here is some of the rest of the playlist…

Cream – Wheels of Fire
Bob Dylan – Greatest Hits
Elton John – Goodbye Yellowbrick Road
AC/DC – Back in Black & Highway to Hell
Led Zeppelin – III
Jimi Hendrix – Electric Ladyland
Weezer – Blue Album

Mindrite formed almost 5 years ago and have since released four studio albums, including this year’s excellent “The
Meaning of the Word Love”.  The album came out in September and is already going into its second pressing, this time
being put together with last year’s concept album “Razing The Sun” as a double disk.  We talk all about the albums,
their recent concert with Godsmack and more during the interview, which you can download for free!

The band plays live around Des Moines constantly, and are ringing in 2008 with a special concert at the House of
Bricks.  You can find out more at their website
