Stuck With Arthur
July 24th, 2007
Last night began with a crowd of people waiting on myself to finish up a fantastic Mars Café Ham & Cheese Panini, and
ended with the crowd singing along to an acoustic version of Stuck With Arthur’s “Burnout”…at least I had Icky Thump
playing in the background while I ate.

The guys from Stuck With Arthur came prepared with enough records to fill up two days of music on the radio.  I was
immediately excited when I started flipping through Chris’s records and spotted Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys, which
we unfortunately didn’t even get the chance to play, that’s how good the records were.  Here’s some of the playlist:

The Arcade Fire – Funeral
Michael Jackson – Thriller
Randy Newman
John Denver feat. Emmylou Harris
Lynard Skynard
Bruce Springsteen – Darkness on the Edge of Town
Paul Simon
Bright Eyes
Waylon & Willie

The highlight for me was discovering a new local band, The Old Scratch Revival Singers; from the artwork on the album
alone I knew I was going to love it.  You can pick up their album “Oh, Didn’t He Ramble” at ZZZ Records in Des Moines.
Or listen for free at www.myspace.com/oldscratchrevivalsingers

Stuck With Arthur has been playing around the local music scene since 2002 when they emerged as a young high
school band in a growing music scene.  Now almost 6 years and a number of albums later, Stuck With Arthur find
themselves still trying to gain the respect of the same music scene, but with the music their putting out it shouldn't take
too long to earn it, and now they’re coming armed with a solid new album “Solstice”

Download the interview and find out all about the new album, and what Stuck With Arthur has gone through to get to this
point, and where they’re going after this summer.  Then download the live acoustic tracks!!  After you download those, go
see Stuck With Arthur at the House of Bricks on August 18th…or catch them with the always sweet Family Unit, at their
farewell show August 25 at the Vaudeville Mews.
