The Tyler Thompson Band wasn’t my first guest to forget to bring in any records for the show, well actually they were. But that didn’t matter; I had a number of albums that they would have probably brought in anyways, including an Allman Brothers album that was recorded in a studio that The Tyler Thompson Band also recorded in. Find out all about it in the interview...
This Show was also different because we are now collaborating with Sonic Factory Studio located right behind Mars Café. Jon Locker and Tony Bohnekamp are the owners of this sweet new addition to the Drake Neighborhood, and we are working together to record the artists coming onto Scented Vinyl in the best possible way. Find out more about Sonic Factory Studio at www.sonicfactorystudios.com, and download the tracks we recorded right here.
Every week when I am choosing records for the show, I try to pick albums that my guest may like, or has never heard of and I think they would like. And I must say for this show I did a pretty good job, we played some great music well enjoying some of the greatest Panini’s around. The highlight for me was finally playing a new record I got for my birthday from my wife, William Elliott Whitmore’s first album "Hymns for the Hopeless".
Here is some of the rest of what we played…
Eric Clapton – Slow Hand The Allman Brothers – Brothers and Sisters Okkervil River – The Stage Names Mason Profitt – Wanted Grateful Dead – Wake of the Flood
On top of playing some great albums, Mike Tyler made me aware of some records I need to get my hands on, asap…you should to.
Emerson, Lake & Palmer – Tarkus Boz Skaggs – Self-Titled The Yardbirds – Favorites Leo Kottke – Greenhouse
